Digital and Software Solutions (DSS) is one of the companies standing behind BESCO Hall of Fame 2026. And they are much more than our partners: a company with a long history of growth, change and giving value back to society and the business ecosystem in Bulgaria.

Past

DSS began as a consulting company and built itself up with a lot of guidance, advice and criticism, but one moment in its history stands out. Early on, an experienced professional and senior manager at a fuel and gas company believed in DSS founder Plamen Nakov and his team and signed the first international contract with them, laying the foundation for a promising start.

This start was followed by contractual relationships with the Ministry of Education and Science and with United Bulgarian Bank, which continue to this day through various projects.

Present

This beginning set the stage for a bright future for the company, but it would have been wasted if its team had been afraid of change. DSS began developing its own product, alDentix, a solution for digital identification, KYC and AML. The company's growth continues with various AI-based projects that secure its future.

Today, DSS has evolved from a consulting company into one that offers a range of services: software engineering, ServiceNow consulting, UX/UI design, cloud and DevOps solutions, and the development and training of artificial intelligence.

This progress would not have been possible without the company's team and culture. It is a team that thinks flexibly and responsibly, and a culture of a friendly and open environment where people can freely express themselves, suggest ideas and give constructive criticism. It is innovative and results-oriented, with a flat hierarchy in decision-making and an open door to anyone, at any time. Because success is not only a good idea; it is also the people who believe, grow and give others the opportunity to share in that success.

Future

There are actions in the present that secure a good future. Whether it is the company's own future, through adapting and developing new technologies, or society's, through initiatives that support its development, good companies take care of both.

DSS believes in this and, besides its own future, cares about the future of others by supporting business, young people and society. More than 100 interns have gone through the company, and over 20 of them have stayed on to grow within it. Besides its internship programs, DSS supports young people by training high school and university students in databases, web development, cybersecurity, programming and AI technologies. The company also takes part in various social initiatives aimed at improving the living environment.

The story of DSS is an example of how companies grow not only through technology, but also through the people who choose to invest trust in one another. From the first contract, signed on the basis of personal faith in a fledgling team, through the courage to develop its own product, to today's range of services, every step was built on a decision not to stop at what had been achieved.

That is why the future of DSS is measured not only in new technologies and projects, but also in the people to whom the company extends a hand today: the interns, school students and university students who will be part of Bulgaria's business ecosystem tomorrow. Because true giving back is not a one-off gesture, but a continuation of the cycle of trust that has stood at the foundation of the company itself.
