Mishka Bakery stands behind BESCO Hall of Fame with its delicious sweet treats and attention to detail.
Mishka Bakery’s story began in 2020 in Belgium, where Anna Kuznetsova started making cakes and desserts as a home baker. The interest they attracted encouraged her to take the next step, and in 2021 she and her husband, Daniel Nikolov, moved to Sofia, where they continued to develop their idea. In March 2023, Mishka Bakery opened its doors as a pastry shop.
Behind this step stood not only the couple’s professional skills but also the courage to turn a personal passion into a business. Anna has international experience and education in hospitality, entrepreneurship and culinary arts, while Daniel has gained experience in restaurants and hotel chains across Europe.
This combination of experience and imagination became the foundation for a brand that seeks its own style and is not afraid to experiment. The trust of customers gradually gave the team the confidence to dream bigger and to develop Mishka Bakery beyond its original idea.
Today, Mishka Bakery creates handmade cakes and desserts for all kinds of occasions, with an emphasis on quality, personal attention and detail. The brand is also developing its own identity through its Fatcarons, Korean-style macarons that set it apart on the Bulgarian pastry scene.
For Mishka Bakery, though, relationships with customers are much more than orders and deliveries. Behind every cake is the customer’s occasion and emotion. That is why people’s trust is such an important part of the company’s story.
“For us, it has never been just about cakes and desserts. Behind every order is someone’s birthday, a first celebration, a great love, a small victory or simply the wish to make a loved one happy.” – Anna Kuznetsova and Daniel Nikolov, founders of Mishka Bakery
This approach is reflected in the company’s internal culture as well. The team believes that good results come from people who put their hearts into their work, are not afraid to experiment and learn from their mistakes.
Mishka Bakery also strives to create jobs, develop young talent and show that a small business can grow without losing the individuality and personal touch that set it apart.
For Mishka Bakery, the future is about growing the brand without losing what makes it recognizable: love of detail, the courage to try new things and the desire to create experiences that stay in people’s memories.
The company believes its small business can be an example of how a modern brand with its own signature and high standards is built. In its view, the mark a business leaves is measured not only by the results it achieves but also by the people it inspires and the opportunities it creates for others.
“If we have managed to inspire even one person to believe in their idea and start their own business, then we have already left a mark.” – Anna Kuznetsova and Daniel Nikolov, founders of Mishka Bakery
For the team, the future of Mishka Bakery also depends on the people behind the brand, those who turn ideas into reality and put care into every detail. Because, as they put it themselves, the most important ingredient at Mishka has never been written in a recipe book: it is the people behind it.
Mishka Bakery does not simply make sweet things; they make someone’s day a little happier. They are proof that a small business can be just as much an example of success as a large corporation, and that behind every successful brand stand not only good ideas but also people who put their hearts into them and turn small moments into big memories.
