From the meetups of the AWS community to the cloud infrastructure behind international tech products, the story of Several Clouds links engineering experience with the conviction that knowledge is worth more when it is shared. Today, the company also supports BESCO Hall of Fame.
Daniel Rankov founded Several Clouds in 2022 with a team of four and a clear idea: using cloud technology successfully requires good architecture, automation, well-prepared people and control over costs.
The story began earlier, though. Before creating the company, Daniel organized AWS User Group Bulgaria, a community that now brings together more than 2,400 people. In 2021, he received the AWS Hero recognition for his contribution to the community.
Along the way, the team also found support in Endeavor, The Bridge and BESCO, through meetings, exchange of experience and partnership opportunities.
“We received a lot from this community, and we believe the best way to give it back is to be useful to the next ones.” – Daniel Rankov, CEO of Several Clouds
Today, Several Clouds is an AWS Advanced Tier Partner with five AWS competencies and more than 50 AWS certifications. The company is also a FinOps Certified Service Provider and holds ISO 27001 certification.
Behind these credentials are two main focus areas.
The first is FinOps: helping companies understand what they are paying for in the cloud, which costs deliver value and where they can achieve more with the same budget.
The second is deploying and operating AI applications on AWS, from a working prototype to a reliable system, with data protection, monitoring of its operation and cost control.
Its clients include Juma, Payrexx and Iris.ai, companies that rely on cloud infrastructure for their products.
Its work with the community continues as well. The team helps Bulgarian companies obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars in support from AWS and organizes AWS Community Day Bulgaria, where specialists share practical knowledge and experience.
The next direction is AI Platform Engineering: building the infrastructure and tools companies need to develop and manage their AI applications. Part of this foundation is the economics of AI, combining FinOps and Tokenomics to manage both the cost of cloud infrastructure and the consumption of AI models and tokens. The goal is for companies to understand how much each AI task costs, what value it delivers and how to strike the right balance between quality, speed and price.
When a prototype starts serving real users, new questions arise: who has access to the data, how much each request to a model costs, and how the actions of AI agents are tracked. Several Clouds helps teams answer these questions already when building their systems.
The approach remains the same: a focused team, direct access to senior engineers and a culture in which differing opinions are heard and decisions are carried out with shared responsibility.
The support for BESCO Hall of Fame continues the same line: the experience and opportunities that helped the company grow should reach the next entrepreneurs too.
From day one, you’ll start applying what you learn in your own sector through practical case studies, mentorship, and tools tailored to the field of your personal cause.
